Dress Reviews in Movies
This web page is dedicated to my reviews on the dress choices within movies or plays. My main focus is whether or not the movies represent the dress and fashion of the era they are trying to duplicate. Well thanks for reading this and I hope you enjoy the reviews.

"The Comedy of Errors"
By William Shakespeare

The movie I chose to watch was the “The comedy of Errors” writing by Shakespeare. The basic story is that two sets of twins are separated by a storm and are strained from each other for twenty years. Until one brother comes to the city on business were his other brother lives and his appearance starts to interfere with the others life, which they are not aware that the either one is their. This confuses their family and friends until they come at a climax where they finally meat and everyone realizes they are twins. The movie is pretty much a stage play with a crew tabing it, so visually it is not too spectacular.
I assume it takes place in Italy around the renassnce era ( I couldn’t get a lot of dates for it). I assume it is supposed to be in the 16 century but the cloths do a poor job indetmestating some of the fashions in that era. The main female characters, who appear to be in the upper class, do not appear to have any trace of the Spanish Farthingale, the more dramatic French Farthingale, a French hood, are even a ruff. They appear quite plain despite their status and their dresses are forgettable.
I do not believed that the customs in that play are not influenced by the era it is set in. Maybe it was do to lack of concern for the dress design of the play or they had to made do with what was available, to do not know. In the end the movie does not live up to the radical dress changes that took place in that era.
